Adobe Cantina & Salsa opened its
doors November of 2002 by Saul Rubio and Uriel Mendoza, two entrepreneurs from Mexico who always wanted an opportunity to
offer people great authentic Mexican cuisine and friendly service.
Saul and Uriel both worked in the restaurant industry in
Pensacola, Florida, but after moving to Louisiana Saul decided that
it was time to open his own Mexican restaurant. In July of
1998, Saul opened La Carreta Mexican Restaurant, which today remains
the most popular Mexican restaurant in the Hammond area. |

After several successful years of
running
La Carreta, Saul decided to offer Hammond residents a
more authentic twist on Mexican food and events. Along
with partner Uriel Mendoza and his wife Jennifer Rubio Saul decided to bring the
to Hammond the same
atmosphere found in the wonderful restaurants back in Mexico.
With its warm colors, adobe-style architecture and Mexican
artwork, Adobe Cantina & Salsa has a wonderful dining
atmosphere that truly offers a Mexican feel.
The majority of the restaurant staff are from Mexico, and often
create a unique element to the restaurant's dining experience by
helping patrons with their questions about Mexican cuisine and
culture.
